Came back from Mexico to find out that a couple days after I left my seahorse Persephone died. I'd seen her grow from a couple centimeters into an adorable little lady seahorse. I'm going to miss having her little tail around my finger whenever I messed with things in the tank and watching her play in the bubbles.
Now that Calypso is by herself I'm thinking of either finding her a new home or releasing her back into the grass beds she came from. Luckily I've been feeding her live food so she still knows how to hunt and fish are the kind of animal who never really stop being wild. At this point I don't have the money or time to take care of a saltwater tank like I should and pipefish are social animals that get depressed by themselves. Not totally giving up on fish though, I'm probably going to switch my ten gallon to a freshwater tank with a beta and a few non-pretty guppies, since apparantly betta's will attack any other pretty fish
. But saltwater tanks are kinda depressing now without my little lady in there anymore.
RIP Persephone
